On February 28, 2018, at 06:00, the 2018 Company Visit committee and participants gathered at the Rectorate of Parahyangan Catholic University to prepare our departure to Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Jakarta. We took the trip for about 5 hours by using the Parahyangan Catholic University Bus. At 12:30, we arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Jakarta. After we finished eating the lunch that had been provided by the committee, we immediately rushed to check in and complete the immigration and boarding. At 16:40, we flew to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok, Thailand, using an Air Asia plane. We arrived in Bangkok at 20:15 (local time) and continued with baggage collection and immigration. Having finished with the baggage claim, we went to the Green House Hotel and the First Hotel to rest.
On March 1, 2018, at 07:30, we were getting ready to check out of the hotel and gather at the Green House Hotel for mobilization to the Big Bee Farm Company, Pattaya. We arrived at Big Bee Farm at 10:30 and were immediately greeted warmly by the Big Bee Farm female guide. We were invited to see some of the bee houses that were there. They shared some information about the growth and breeding of bees, as well as the results of beekeeping. After we finished walking around, we were invited to go to a room where a honey-lemon drink was provided for us. While enjoying the drink, we learned about processed honey and its benefits for the body when consumed regularly.
Following our visit to Big Bee Farm, we continued our trip to Nong Nooch for lunch and an elephant show. At 15:45, we paid a visit to the Gems Jewelry Company. The company visit this time were a bit different from our general company visits; we were invited to ride the train. We were invited to see the traditional mining, sifting, and processing that is exhibited by the statues on the train rides for 15 minutes. Furthermore, we were given firsthand access to see the process of making jewelry as well as the jewelry that is ready for sale. After leaving Gems Jewelry, we went to the restaurant for dinner and then to the Baron Beach Hotel to rest.
On March 2, 2018, at 07:30, we were getting ready to check out of the hotel and gather for mobilization to the Stock Exchange of Thailand. At 10:00, we arrived at the Stock Exchange of Thailand. This company visit is quite different from most company visits. At first, we were given cards for us to register, and then the cards would give us access to operate the applications available on the Stock Exchange of Thailand. At the Stock Exchange of Thailand, we were given a lot of insight about stocks, invited to play games as if we were buying and selling stocks in the real world, and interacted in two ways to discuss stocks in general. In addition, there is an application to calculate the nominal amount of money that needs to be saved, so that when we reach retirement age, we don’t have to worry about life because we already have sufficient savings.
Following that, we were given a tour of the library, which is very spacious and comfortable, has a large number of printed books, and offers a large number of e-books. After completing a visit to the Stock Exchange of Thailand, we mobilized to the Chao Phraya River, Wat Arun, the Sleeping Buddha, and Asiatique. We mobilized at 20:00 to go to a restaurant for dinner and the Metro Resort Pratunam to rest.
On March 3, 2018, at 08:00, we were given the opportunity to enjoy free time until 15:00. At 15:30, we mobilized to Don Mueang Airport for our flight back to Indonesia. We arrived at Bangkok Don Mueang Airport at 18:00, checked in, dealt with immigration and boarding, and had dinner. At 20:55, we flew to Soekarno-Hatta Airport using an Air Asia plane.
On March 4, 2018, at 00:25, we arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport and then rushed to the immigration and baggage claim. At 01:40, we went back to Parahyangan Catholic University by using the Parahyangan Catholic University Bus. Finally, at 07:30 WIB, we arrived at Parahyangan Catholic University.
